The BAC has more than 40 locals in the U.S. and Canada. Members of BAC include tile setters, refactory workers, cement and marble masons, and terrazzo and mosaic workers. They build walls, lay floors and produce a range of decorative finishes in residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
HISTORY
The BAC is one of North America’s oldest unions. While the BAC was first established in the United States in 1865, it only became an international union in 1881 with the admittance of Canadian locals in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. In 2000, the BAC Canadian Congress was created through a Constitutional amendment, which would give Canadian members a stronger voice in the international union’s affairs.
