The Gordie Howe International Bridge – currently under construction – will connect Windsor to Detroit via a 2.5 km cable-stayed design, making it the longest bridge of its kind in North America. Construction is slated to be completed in 2024, and by this time, the project will have generated roughly 2500 jobs. Some of the most in-demand positions are heavy equipment operators and ironworkers.
