Helmets to Hardhats Canada

This week, as we remember and honour our veteran members and all Canadian veterans – it’s essential that we support them not only when they serve but also when they return to civilian life. That’s why Canada’s Building Trades Unions are proud to support Helmets to Hardhats Canada (H2H).

Helmets to Hardhats Canada works with veterans looking to start new careers and skilled trades organizations. Veterans are placed in accelerated apprenticeship programs and given the tools and training needed to build family-sustaining, life-long construction careers.

Recently, this has also expanded to include Afghan interpreters who have immigrated to Canada, for the support given to our troops over the years. Roles undertaken by veterans who transition to the skilled trades build on the skills acquired during their military training and service. To date, H2H has successfully placed more than 1,000 veterans into an apprenticeship or job in the skilled trades. In honour of their 10th anniversary, H2H will be hosting an anniversary celebration May 5, 2022 in Vaughan, ON, with tables and sponsorships available. Learn more about H2H and how you can support the important work they do by visiting their website here.
