Recruitment and Retention

CBTU is developing a national recruitment campaign to help address that need. The campaign will inform young Canadians about the rewards and benefits of working in the building trades. It will also show them how Canada’s Building Trades Unions can help them enter the trades through:

  • The most comprehensive training system for tradespeople in Canada
  • Curricula and training materials developed to meet industry needs
  • Programs for under-represented and disadvantaged groups, including women, First Nations and new Canadians
  • Intro-level trades programs for high school students
  • Bursaries, grants, scholarships and mentorship programs to assist apprentices
