Sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations can claim the employer\u2019s tax credit.<\/li><li>You claim the credit based on the salary and wages you pay to an employee enrolled in an apprenticeship program administered through the Industry Training Authority (ITA).<\/li><li>There are three main elements to the training tax credit:<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/taxes\/income-taxes\/corporate\/credits\/training\/employer#basic\">Basic credit<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/taxes\/income-taxes\/corporate\/credits\/training\/employer#basic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 up to $4,000 for the first 24 months of non-Red Seal training programs<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/taxes\/income-taxes\/corporate\/credits\/training\/employer#completion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Completion credit<\/a>\u00a0 \u2013 up to $2,500 for level 3 or up to $3,000 for higher levels for Red Seal or non-Red Seal training programs<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/taxes\/income-taxes\/corporate\/credits\/training\/employer#enhanced\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enhanced credit<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 up to $2,000 for First Nations individuals and people with disabilities<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/taxes\/income-taxes\/corporate\/credits\/ship-build-repair\">Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Industry Tax Credit<\/a><\/p><ul><li>Employers in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry may qualify for an apprenticeship credit higher than the standard training tax credit<\/li><li>The credit covers salary and wages for apprentices who are registered with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.itabc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Industry Training Authority<\/a>\u00a0(ITA) and enrolled in an eligible apprenticeship program<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.workbc.ca\/Employer-Resources\/BC-Employer-Training-Grant.aspx\">B.C. Employer Training Grant<\/a><\/p><ul><li>The goal of the Employer Training Grant is to help unemployed and employed British Columbians access the skills training they need to adapt to the changing requirements of jobs and the labour market<\/li><li>The grant encourages employer involvement in skills training of new or current employees.<\/li><li>The program assists employers in providing employees with training to develop skills and certification, upgrade skills needed due to automation, and enhance productivity<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div id=\"e-n-tab-content-1526642703\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"e-n-tab-title-1526642703\" data-tab-index=\"3\" style=\"--n-tabs-title-order: 3;\" class=\" elementor-element elementor-element-6672ba3 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"6672ba3\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-748455c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"748455c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>There are no employer-specific supports, but supports are available for apprentices at <a href=\"https:\/\/tradesecrets.alberta.ca\/\">Trade Secrets Alberta<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div id=\"e-n-tab-content-1526642704\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"e-n-tab-title-1526642704\" data-tab-index=\"4\" style=\"--n-tabs-title-order: 4;\" class=\" elementor-element elementor-element-6f9d802 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" data-id=\"6f9d802\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-50552fb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"50552fb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><a href=\"https:\/\/saskapprenticeship.ca\/indigenous-apprenticeship\/\">The Indigenous Apprenticeship Initiatives (IAI)<\/a><\/p><ul><li>promotes access to apprenticeship training and an understanding of the trades as a career choice<\/li><li>includes apprenticeship courses with First Nations and Indigenous partners, mentoring projects, career exploration and other opportunities.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p><a href=\"https:\/\/saskapprenticeship.ca\/sya-industry-scholarship-youth\/\">Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Industry Scholarships<\/a><\/p><ul><li>Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Industry Scholarships are valued at $1,000 and awarded to selected, eligible high school graduates throughout the province who have completed the SYA program and will be pursuing a career in the skilled trades.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div id=\"e-n-tab-content-1526642705\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"e-n-tab-title-1526642705\" data-tab-index=\"5\" style=\"--n-tabs-title-order: 5;\" class=\" elementor-element elementor-element-a04e2b9 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" data-id=\"a04e2b9\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eeff0a4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eeff0a4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Apprentice hiring incentive<\/strong><\/p><p>You can claim this credit if you are an employer who hires high-school and post-secondary apprentices in Manitoba.<\/p><p>The maximum amount of the credit\u00a0is\u00a0<strong>$5,000<\/strong>\u00a0per apprentice per year. The rate of salary and wages is:<\/p><ul><li><strong>15%<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>20%<\/strong>\u00a0for employers of apprentices who normally reside outside of Winnipeg and whose work is performed outside of Winnipeg<\/li><li><strong>25%<\/strong>\u00a0for employers of high school apprentices for tax years ending\u00a0after 2015<\/li><\/ul><p>This component of the credit also covers employers eligible for the federal apprenticeship job creation tax credit (AJCTC), who will receive a\u00a0top-up\u00a0that is equal to the difference between this provincial credit and the federal credit.<\/p><p><strong>Journeyperson hiring incentive<\/strong><\/p><p>You can claim this credit if you are an employer that has hired recent graduates of apprenticeship programs in full time employment in Manitoba. The journeyperson must have received their certificate of qualification in Canada in a field related to the employment.<\/p><p>The credit is equal\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>15%<\/strong>\u00a0of salary and wages paid to the journeyperson, less government assistance, in each of the first two full years of employment, up to a maximum\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>$5,000<\/strong>\u00a0for each year, where the employment starts within\u00a018 months\u00a0of certification.<\/p><p>Employment periods must be continuous and consecutive, but an employment period may be interrupted by a seasonal layoff of not more than\u00a0three months.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d3e0d29 elementor-widget elementor-widget-button\"
