STATEMENT ON SASKATCHEWAN COWESSESS FIRST NATION

Canada’s Building Trades Unions mourn for those who were discovered buried in unmarked graves near the former Marieval Indian Residential School site. We stand in solidarity with all First Nations, the survivors of residential schools, their families and those children who did not make it home.

If you or someone you know needs help, contact the National Indian Residential Schools Crisis Line  available 24/7 at 1-866-925-4419.

UA Canada has developed a campaign, calling on the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Governments to prioritize their commitment to Truth and Reconciliation for Indigenous Peoples and complete a full investigation into all Indian Residential Schools. Visit the website, learn more and send a letter to your Member of Parliament and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to encourage more to be done: https://215.uacanada.ca
