DECKING INSTALLER

Jul 8, 2016

Also called Deckers

Sheet metal workers who work with siding and decking install metal roof decking and siding on a prefabricated building. Decking is usually installed by lapping pieces of decking and welding or screwing it to the metal framework. This is commonly seen on the roofs of various warehouses. Commercial siding is usually distinguished between three different panels: sandwich, composite and foam. These are fabricated and installed by a sheet metal worker.

Working with liners, insulation and exterior metal walls is challenging because the material is large and often requires more than one person to install. These walls are the first line of defense from the elements. The building’s aesthetics should also be taken into consideration, including the grits, trims and corners. Everything should line up to make a structurally sound building.
